Startups: Nonprofit aims to help startups learn how to grow

Adopt a Small Business is a new nonprofit project geared toward providing business expertise to worthwhile small businesses for facilitating growth.

One Phoenix-metro area business will be chosen in July to work with volunteer experts, who will become the business owner’s planning, marketing, communication and sales-generating consultants. The experts will help the company set goals and objectives and then put together a plan to reach those goals.

The services are valued at more than $60,000.

“Our main goal is to really launch a business to that next level: To grow the business, create jobs and really change an entrepreneur’s life,” said Larry Vivola, a business coach with Phoenix’s Inline Business Advisors, one of the volunteer experts. “It was so exciting how quick the other experts jumped on to hopefully change an entrepreneur’s business.”

Applications are being accepted through June 30. Services will begin July 4 and last for one year.
